Regression rank scores in nonlinear models

چکیده
with xi ∈ Rk, θ = (θ0, θ1, . . . , θp)′ ∈ Θ (compact in Rp+1), where g(x, θ) = θ0 + g̃(x, θ1, . . . , θp) is continuous, twice differentiable in θ and monotone in components of θ. Following Gutenbrunner and Jurečková (1992) and Jurečková and Procházka (1994), we introduce regression rank scores for model (1), and prove their asymptotic properties under some regularity conditions. As an application, we propose some tests in nonlinear regression models with nuisance parameters.

Tests Based on Regression Rank Scores in Nonlinear Models and Their Computation
We consider a nonlinear regression model introduced in Jurečková [2006], where concept of regression rank scores was generalized to nonlinear models. We try to support by simulations the results (asymptotic properties under some regularity conditions) proven in that article and apply them to a set of real data. We test a two sample problem under nuisance nonlinear regression pointing out some d...
متن کاملComparison of time to the event and nonlinear regression models in the analysis of germination data
Extended abstract Introduction: Numerous studies are being carried out to reveal the effects of different treatments on the germination of seeds from various plants. The most commonly used method of analysis is the nonlinear regression which estimates germination parameters. Although the nonlinear regression has been performed based on different models, some serious problems in its structure...
متن کاملThe Family of Scale-Mixture of Skew-Normal Distributions and Its Application in Bayesian Nonlinear Regression Models
In previous studies on fitting non-linear regression models with the symmetric structure the normality is usually assumed in the analysis of data. This choice may be inappropriate when the distribution of residual terms is asymmetric. Recently, the family of scale-mixture of skew-normal distributions is the main concern of many researchers. This family includes several skewed and heavy-tailed d...
متن کاملPractical Differences among Aggregate-Level Conditional Status Metrics: From Median Student Growth Percentiles to Value-Added Models
Aggregate-Level Conditional Status Metrics (ACSMs) describe the status of a group by referencing current performance to expectations given past scores. This paper provides a framework for these metrics, classifying them by aggregation function (mean or median), regression approach (linear mean, nonlinear quantile), and the scale supporting interpretations (percentile rank, score scale), among o...

Extended abstract Introduction: Germination speed is one of the most important germination indices, which is used in the most studies to compare the effects of different treatments on germination of seeds. Researchers use the reverse time to 50% maximum germination (1/D50) to calculate the germination rate. One of the methods for calculating the D50 is the use of nonlinear regression models s...
